Eagles Swept in Tri-Match on Senior Day

WATERBURY, Conn (November 7, 2009) In the first game on Saturday's tri-match the Eagles Volleyball team fell to the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia 3-0. The Eagles started off strong in the first set but then USP came back to win (29-27). The Eagles kept fighting in the second and thirds sets but could not get past USP. (26-24, 27-25).
The Post University Volleyball team had strong defensive efforts from Kelly Hayes with 16 digs, Taylor Doyle and Teresea Hodges each with 12 digs and Aubrey Latham with 10 digs. On offensive Elizabeth Knight had 13 kills and Teresea Hodges had 10 kills. Taylor Doyle finish the first game with 26 assists.
In the third game of the day, NYIT defeated the Post University Eagles 3-0. (25-23, 25-22, 25-19) Teresea Hodges had a strong game on defense with 17 digs, followed by Aubrey Latham and Kelly Hayes with 10 digs each. Elizabeth Knight was strong on offense in the loss with 15 kills. Taylor Doyle had 33 assists on the game.
The next game will be in the first round of the CACC Playoffs.
