Post University's Women's Cross Country 1st; Men 2nd in Home Meet

MIDDLEBURY, Conn (October 13, 2010) Post University's women's cross country team continued their undefeated season Wednesday afternoon at Hop Brook Park in Middlebury with a win over Bridgeport, Albertus Magnus, and Caldwell College. The men's team placed second overall.

Michelle Chadwick (23:37) finished second, Diana Castellano (24:43) was sixth, Barbara Almeida (25:14) was seventh, Jessica Kaszas (25:30) placed eighth, and Imani Vasser (27:18) finished 13th.

As a team the lady Eagles had a score of 36, followed by Bridgeport (43) and Albertus Magnus (66). Caldwell's fifth runner was injured preventing them from scoring in the meet.

On the men's side, Bridgeport (26) took the top spot followed by Post University (30) and Albertus (72).

Joshua Lopez (19:54) was second overall on the 3.1 mile course, Mark Spellman (21:42) placed fifth, Justia Bias (22:11) was sixth, Zachariah Cole (23:13) was eighth, and Richard Marsh (23:47) was ninth.

The Eagles will compete next at the CACC conference championships.
