Cross Country Competes At NCAA Division II East Regional On Saturday

WATERBURY, Conn.-The Post University men's and women's cross country teams, will run at the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship on Saturday afternoon at the West Branch Cross Country Course at Lock Haven University.

The women's race will go off at 11 a.m., while the men's race begins at 12:15 p.m. The men will traverse a 10k course, while the women will run 6k on Saturday afternoon. Post will be looking to do well on the 99-percent grass and totally flat course at Lock Haven.

The Eagles are coming off a pair of ninth place finishes at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships on October 20 at the Belmont Plateau in Fairmont Park in Philadelphia, Pa.

Sophomore Tim McCarthy finished 17th overall with a 28:52.75 over the 8,000-meter course. He lowered his time from last year's CACC Championships. The time was the second-fastest of the season for him at the Belmont Plateau, as he recorded a 28:49.26 at the Cabrini College Invite on October 13.

Junior Megan Oates led the women's team with a 23:16.56 over the 5,000-meter course. It was her best finish of the season in three races at the Belmont Plateau. At the Cabrini College Invite, she recorded a 23:25.71.
