Shivers Named CACC Honorable Mention

September 24, 2007

NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Freshman Rachel Shivers was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer Honorable Mention, this afternoon. Shivers helped the Eagles to a 5-0 win over Chestnut Hill on Saturday afternoon with two goals and assist.

Shivers gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute of play, with her third goal of the season, off a rebound shot from senior Maria Krug.

She then added her second of the day and fourth of the season in the 55th minute, as she gained control of a long kick at midfield, and outran the defense, and beating the keeper one-on-one.

The freshman then aided on sophomore Tiffany Neuendorf's goal late in the game.

Shivers leads the team in scoring with four goals and one assist for nine points.

Post returns to the pitch on Tuesday afternoon, as it hosts Dominican College in a CACC contest. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. at LaMoy Field.
