Women's SoccerSTAC Scores Two Unanswered Goals To Beat Women's Soccer, 2-1 September 1, 2007 THEILLS, N.Y.-St. Thomas Aquinas scored two unanswered goals, to defeat the Post University women's soccer team 2-1, on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Rachel Shivers scored her second goal in as many matches, for the Eagles. Shivers took a pass from freshman Mallorie Michalak in the 12th minute, and put it in the back of the net for her second collegiate goal. The assist was Michalak's first of her career. Unfortunately for the Eagles, STAC scored two goals, each by Stacy Samora. Her first goal came in the 26th minute off a pass from Katie Mosolino. She then added another on an unassisted goal in the 49th minute of play. Junior goalkeeper Morgan Luschenat recorded three saves for the Eagles, while Patricia Roth stopped eight shots for STAC in the win. The Eagles outshot had a 13-9 edge in shots including a 9-1 advantage in the second period. They also had a 7-4 edge in corner kicks. STAC was whistled for 18 fouls in the contest. Post returns to action on Wednesday afternoon, as they return
home to face Southern Connecticut State University in a Nutmeg
State clash. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. at LaMoy Field.
