Women's SoccerWomen's Soccer Opens Home Portion Of Schedule On Wednesday August 28, 2007 WATERBURY, Conn.-The Post University women's soccer team opens the home portion of its schedule on Wednesday afternoon, with a non-conference tilt against Bentley College. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. at LaMoy Field. Last season, the Eagles were 7-1-3 at LaMoy Field, and recorded nine of their 11 shutouts on the season at home. Post is coming off a 1-0 loss to the number-23 ranked team in the country, the University of New Haven, in the second-round of the Connecticut Cup on Sunday. Freshman Susan Curran netted her first collegiate goal, in her first match on Friday morning against the University of Bridgeport. Curran headed a junior Jackie Sutton free kick from about 45 yards out into the back of the net, for the tally. Junior Morgan Luschenat made her collegiate debut over the weekend, recording 10 saves against New Haven. She enters the match on Wednesday with 17 on the season. Bentley comes to town, with a 2-0 record after defeating New York Tech, 2-1 and Queens College 2-0 in opening weekend action. Cheryl Boyd figured in the scoring with a goal and an assist against Queens, while Miranda Charles began her collegiate career with a shutout for the Falcons. Post will travel to St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday afternoon,
before welcoming in-state rival, Southern Connecticut State
University to campus on Wednesday, Sept. 5
