Women's Soccer Announces 2008 Schedule

WATERBURY, Conn.-Post University women's soccer Head Coach John Benitez announced the 2008 schedule on Monday afternoon. The Eagles will open the 19-match slate on Thursday, Aug. 28 at Southern Connecticut State University.

Post begins its nine-match home schedule on Sunday, Aug. 31 against in-state rival, the University of Bridgeport. The Eagles stay at home, and welcome American International College to LaMoy Field on Thursday, Sept. 4.

The next four matches for the Eagles will be on the road, beginning with Bentley College, on Saturday, Sept. 6. Next up for the Eagles will be the third "Nutmeg State" opponent of the season, in the University of New Haven, Thursday, Sept. 11.

The Eagles begin the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) portion of the schedule on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Wilmington College. Then, Post heads to Nyack College on Tuesday, Sept. 16, to close out the road swing.

Post will host Philadelphia University on Saturday, Sept. 20, in the first CACC home match of the season. The Philadelphia match kicks off a four-match home stand for the Eagles, which features Molloy College, Monday, Sept. 22, St. Thomas Aquinas, Thursday, Sept. 25, and Goldey-Beacom, Saturday, Sept. 27.

The month of October begins with four CACC matches on the road. Post will travel to Felician Thursday, Oct. 2, Georgian Court, Saturday, Oct. 4, Dominican College, Tuesday, Oct. 7, and Chestnut Hill, Saturday, Oct. 11.

The Eagles will close out the regular season with three of their last four matches at home. Holy Family begins the stretch Saturday, Oct. 18, followed by Caldwell College, Tuesday, Oct. 21. A non-league tilt at New York Institute of Technology breaks up the string on Friday, Oct. 24. The regular-season finale at home will have Bloomfield College, visiting LaMoy Field Wednesday, Oct. 29.

The CACC Championships will be held November 1-8.

Last season, the Eagles won three of their last four matches of the regular season. They also won five of the last seven matches, while earning a trip to the CACC Championships for the third time in as many years.
