Women's SoccerNo. 6 Women's Soccer Opens CACC Tournament Tuesday Afternoon October 28, 2007 WATERBURY, Conn.-After winning three of its last four matches and five of its last eight, the Post University women's soccer team, opens the 2007 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer Championships on the road at Georgian Court University on Tuesday afternoon. Post is the number-six seed after finishing the regular season with a 5-12-1 overall record and a 5-5-1 mark in the CACC. Georgian Court, the number-three seed, enters Tuesday's match with a 13-7 overall record and a 9-2 mark in the CACC. In addition to the Post-GCU match, three other quarterfinal matches will take place on Tuesday afternoon. No. 1 Holy Family will host No. 8 Nyack, No. 2 Philadelphia will host No. 7 Caldwell, and No. 4 Wilmington will host No. 5 Dominican. The winner of the quarterfinals will advance to the semifinals at Felician College and Tyron Field on Thursday afternoon. Freshman Rachel Shivers leads the Eagles in scoring with seven goals and four assists for 18 points. Freshman Susan Curran is second on the team with six goals and one assist for 13 points, and has scored four goals in the last four games for the Eagles. Senior Jackie Sutton and freshman Mallorie Michalak each have two goals and three assists. Junior goalkeeper Morgan Luschenat is third in the CACC in save percentage with a .750 rating; she has stopped 99 shots so far this season. Georgian Court is led by Amy Van Blarcom, who ranks fourth in the CACC with 26 points and is tied for third in the conference with 12 goals. GCU defeated the Eagles 3-0 on September 29, scoring three goals in the second half. The winner of the Post-GCU match will face the winner of the
Philadelphia-Caldwell match on Thursday, Nov. 1 at Tyron Field at 7
p.m. The semifinal winners will meet on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m.
