Curran Tabbed CACC Co-Rookie Of The Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Susan Curran of the Post University women's soccer team, was named Co-Rookie of the Week by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), after scoring three goals last week for the Eagles.

Curran scored twice in a 3-0 win over Nyack College on October 16, and scored a goal in a 3-2 come-from-behind win on the road at Caldwell on October 18.

Against Nyack, she scored the first goal of the afternoon for the Eagles in the ninth minute of play, and added another in the 69th minute off a scramble in front of the keeper, to help seal the victory.

In the match at Caldwell, she sparked the comeback, scoring the first goal of the game for the Eagles in the 60th minute of play. Senior Maria Krug tied the game in the 66th minute, and sophomore Sarah Beyers controlled a loose ball in front in the 97th minute to help the Eagles come away with the victory.

The New Milford, Conn. native is second on the team in scoring with five goals and one assist for 11 points.

The Eagles, under first-year Head Coach John Benitez, are 4-12-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the CACC. Post is tied for sixth in the CACC with Dominican College with 13 points. The top eight teams in the conference qualify for the CACC Championships, which begin on Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Post closes out the regular season on Tuesday afternoon with a CACC clash at Bloomfield College. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
