Women's SoccerWilmington Scores Pair Of First Half Goals To Defeat Women's Soccer, 2-0 October 20, 2007 WATERBURY, Conn.-Begum Malali scored a pair of goals, for Wilmington College in a 2-0 win over the Post University women's soccer team, on Saturday afternoon, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at LaMoy Field. Wilmington (14-4-1, 7-3 CACC) broke the ice with about 32 minutes remaining in the first half, as Malali dribbled through two defenders and placed a shot to the left corner of the goal, giving the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. Malali added her second goal of the afternoon a few minutes later, as she was set up on a nice cross from Nicole Meis. Meis sent the ball from the left side of the pitch, and found Malali, who fired a shot to the right corner of the goal, giving Wilmington a 2-0 lead. Post's (4-12-1, 4-5-1 CACC) junior Stephanie Goss made five saves, while junior Morgan Luschenat recorded a pair of saves. The Eagles return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 23, as they head to
Bloomfield College for the final regular season match. Kickoff is
slated for 3 p.m.
