WATERBURY, Conn.-Ashley Knight had a goal and an assist to lead Southern Connecticut State to a 3-0 win over the Post University women's soccer on Wednesday afternoon at LaMoy Field.

Southern improves to 2-1-1 on the season, while the Eagles fall to 0-5.

Virginia Hyman broke the ice in the 14^th minute, taking a pass from Knight at the top of the 18-yard line, and putting it into the back of the net.

Knight scored her goal just before halftime in the 43^rd minute of play on a shot from the bottom right corner of the penalty box.

SCSU capped the scoring in the 54^th minute with an unassisted tally from Katrina Cook.

Post keeper junior Morgan Luschenat recorded six saves on the afternoon, while SCSU's Katie Didio and Alicia Purzycki combined for a shutout.

The Owls out shot the Eagles 17-7, but Post enjoyed a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.

Post begins Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Saturday afternoon, as it travels to Holy Family University.
