Women's SoccerFelician Nips Women's Soccer, 2-1 October 2, 2007 WATERBURY, Conn.-Jenna Krowl's goal in the 68th minute, broke a 1-1 tie, and gave Felician College, a 2-1 win over the Post University women's soccer team, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at LaMoy Field. With the win, Felician improves to 4-6-1 overall and 2-3 in the CACC, while the Eagles fall to 1-9-1 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play. After have a few quality scoring opportunities early in the first half, the Eagles finally broke through in the 29th minute taking a 1-0 lead. Senior Jackie Sutton, fired a shot on goal, and the ball deflected off the keeper's shin guards and right out to freshman Mallorie Machalak, who fired it into the back of the net, putting the Eagles on the board. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the lead was short-lived, as in the 33rd minute of play, Felician, knotted the game at 1-1 with a goal by Christine Warren. Warren was set up by a pass from Lindsey Petry. The score would remain 1-1 until the 68th minute, when Warren fed Krowl, for the game-winning goal. Junior Morgan Luschenat made six saves for the Eagles, while Amanda Mussarra stopped 14 on the afternoon, including 11 in the first half. The Eagles out shot Felician 19-4, including a 16-5 margin in the first half. Felician held a slight 7-6 edge in corner kicks. Post returns to action on Saturday afternoon, as it travels to
Goldey-Beacom College for a CACC match. Kickoff is slated for 1
p.m.
