No. 4 Post vs. No. 1 Philadelphia

The Storyline:

The Post University women's soccer team, the number-four seed in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) faces the number-one seed Philadelphia University this afternoon at Tryon Field at Felician College in the semifinals of the CACC Women's Soccer Championships ... Post enters the match fresh off a 2-0 win in the quarterfinals on Monday against Dominican College. Philadelphia is 11-4-1 overall and 8-1-1 in the CACC, while the Eagles are 10-6-3 overall and 7-2-1 in the CACC.

The Last Time We Met:

Freshman Kelli Veras gave the Post University women's soccer team a 1-0 double overtime win over Philadelphia University on October 14 at LaMoy Field ... The win snapped Philadelphia's 19-game conference unbeaten streak ... Freshman Brittany Carroll and freshman Karalee Desrosiers combined for the shutout, as Carroll made three saves and Desrosiers made one ... Philadelphia keeper Sara Hall made 11 saves in goal.

Scouting The Eagles:

The Eagles are coming off a 2-0 win in the quarterfinals on Monday against Dominican at LaMoy Field ... Junior Shannon Firetto scored the first goal of the contest off a cross from Katie Sabal and Kaitlyn Delaney at the 74:22 mark ... The Eagles added another goal, as Firetto found Delaney on a cross, and she one timed it into the back of the net ... Veras is the team's leading scorer with 21 points (five goals, 11 assists) ... Maria Krug and Delaney follow with 19 points and 18, respectively.

Quick Hits:

The 10 wins is second all-time at Post, to the 1996 team that finished the season with 11 wins ... The win on Monday was the first since the University joined NCAA Division II ... Post has recorded shutouts in each of its last four matches, going 3-0-1 in that span ... The Eagles are unbeaten in eight of their last nine matches, and 11 of their last 13, dating back to September 14 ... Post finished the season 6-1-3 at LaMoy Field this season ... Post is making its second straight appearance in the CACC Tournament.

CACC Kudos:

Freshman Kelli Veras was named the CACC Rookie of the Year on Tuesday, and she earned a spot on the CACC first-team along with junior Maria Krug ... Freshman Karalee Desrosiers and sophomore Kendra Kelly earned a spot on the All-CACC second-team.

From New Jersey Turnpike: Take Turnpike to exit 16w(Route 3). Get off onto Route 3 west. Take Route 3 west to the Riverside Ave. exit. At the end of the exit make a right. Proceed through the first light and then make your second left onto Washington St. Take Washington to the end and the field will be in front of you. We play in Memorial Park at Tryon Field.

From Garden State Parkway: Take exit 153(route 3 east). You get off onto Route 3 east. Proceed on Route 3 to the Riverside Ave. exit. Make a right off exit and go to the end of the road. At the end of the exit make a right onto Riverside Ave. Proceed through first light and then make your second left onto Washington St. Take Washington to the end and the field will be in front of you. We play in Memorial Park at Tryon Field.

From Route 17: Take Route 17 South to Union Ave. Make a right off exit and go to stop sign. Make a left onto Hackensack St. and go under the railroad tressel, bear right onto Erie Ave. Stay straight on Erie Ave. and take it to the end, bear left and go to your first right. Make that right and go to Darwin Ave. Make a left onto Darwin Ave. and the field is on you right. We play in Memorial Park on Tryon Field.

From Route 80: Take Route 80 east to Route 46 east.  Proceed to Route 3 east and get off at the Riverside Ave. exit.  You will bear to your right on the exit and go to the end of that street.  Make a right hand turn onto Riverside Ave. and go about 1mile to the traffic light.  Go through the traffic light and make a left turn onto Washington Street.  You will take Washington Street all the way down until you see the field on your right.

The winner of this match will face the winner of the Holy Family-Georgian Court match in the CACC Championship game on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Felician College.
