Women's SoccerFour Women's Soccer Players Garner CACC Kudos October 24, 2006 NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Freshman Kelli Veras (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) led four Post University women's soccer players, who picked up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Conference honors, as the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon. Veras, was named the Rookie of the Year, and earned a spot on the first-team All-CACC. She ranks first in the conference in assists with 11, and first in the CACC in assists per game with 0.65 before yesterday's 2-0 win over Dominican College in the quarterfinals. At one point in the season, she was ranked as high as seventh in the NCAA statistical rankings. She is also seventh in the conference in points (21), and points per game (1.24). Joining Veras on the first-team All-CACC is junior Maria Krug (Norwich, Conn./Norwich). Krug is tied for the team-lead in goals with eight. She is second on the team in scoring with 19 points, and is making her second appearance on the All-CACC squad, as she was named to the second-team All-CACC a year ago. The Eagles also had a pair of players make the second-team All-CACC, as freshman Karalee Desrosiers (Granby, Mass./Granby) and sophomore Kendra Kelly (New Milford, Conn./New Milford) were honored for their play this season. Desrosiers, has appeared in 19 games for the Eagles this season, and has allowed only 13 goals in 1161:10 minutes of action. She has 1.01 goals against average, and at one time was ranked among the nation's leaders in save percentage. She currently holds a .854 save percentage heading into the semifinals on Wednesday. Kelly was part of a defensive unit for the Eagles that recorded eight shutouts on the season, including in each of the last four matches. Brianne Redelheim of Holy Family was named CACC Player of the Year, and Jim Moore Georgian Court was named CACC Coach of the Year. The Eagles enter the match with the number-one seed Philadelphia University with a 10-6-3 overall record, after the win on Monday against Dominican in the quarterfinals. The 10 wins is second most victories in school-history and the seven conference wins during the regular season, was the most-ever in school-history. The Philadelphia match will be played at Felician College, with
kickoff slated for 1 p.m.
