Women's SoccerWomen's Soccer Announces 2006 Schedule August 3, 2006 WATERBURY, Conn.-The Post University women's soccer team is coming off its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship berth since 1999, and enters the 2006 season with its two leading scorers from the previous two seasons back in the fold. In addition, 11 returning letter winners, and an 11-member recruiting class, give Head Coach Matt Micros all the pieces to make another run at the CACC Championships. Post begins its quest for its second CACC Championship berth in a row on Thursday, Aug. 24 against the University of New Haven. Two days later, Post squares off with the University of Bridgeport in the second round of the New Haven Tournament. Post opens the home portion of its schedule on Thursday, August 31 against UMass.-Lowell. The Eagles will play nine matches in the friendly confines of LaMoy Field this season. Saturday, Sept. 2 Post entertains St. Thomas Aquinas, and will open CACC play on Tuesday, Sept. 5 against Bloomfield. Following its first conference match of the season, the Eagles will hit the road for five matches, beginning with Delaware State on Friday, Sept. 8. Post returns to the Nutmeg State to face Southern Connecticut on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Three conference matches are up next, as the Eagles will travel to Nyack on Thursday, Sept. 14, Dominican on Tuesday, Sept. 19, and Georgian Court on Saturday, Sept. 23. Post returns home for a pair of non-conference matches with Mercy College on Monday, Sept. 25, and American International on Wednesday, Sept. 27. Goldey-Beacom pays a visit to LaMoy Field on Saturday, Sept. 30. The Eagles then begin the homestretch of the season, with three of the last five games of the regular season at home. Post travels to Felician on Tuesday, Oct. 3. Then welcomes Holy Family on Saturday, Oct. 7, Philadelphia University on Saturday, Oct. 14, and Caldwell on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Post closes out the regular season at Wilmington on Friday, Oct. 20. The CACC Championships are slated for October 23-28 at the site
of the higher seed.
