Veras Captures Third CACC Rookie Of The Week Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Freshman Kelli Veras (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, as the conference announced its players of the week this afternoon.

Veras, who was Co-Rookie of the Week on September 25, and Rookie of the Week last week, scored the game-winning goal last Saturday in a 1-0 double overtime win against Philadelphia University.

The win clinched a spot in the upcoming CACC Women's Soccer Championships, and snapped Philadelphia's 19-game CACC unbeaten streak.

Veras leads the CACC in assists per game with 0.67 apg, as she has dished out 10 assists in 15 games so far this season. She is also sixth in the conference in points per game, with 1.33. She leads the team with 15 points, as she has scored five goals to go along with her conference-best assist total.

The Post women's soccer team, under second-year Head Coach Matt Micros is 8-6-2 overall and 6-2 in the CACC. The Eagles will gear up for the CACC Championships with a pair of matches against Caldwell College at home on Wednesday at 3 p.m., and on the road at Wilmington on Friday afternoon.
