No Treats, just Tricks: Women's Soccer Falls in CACC Quarterfinals

October 31, 2005

Waterbury, CT--The Post University women's soccer team fell, 2-0, to the Lady Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament quarterfinal game.

Post and Goldey played a scoreless first half with Goldey controlling the play. Goldey out shot the Eagles 14-4 in the first half. The Lady Lightning broke the seal on the scoring in the game's 63rd minute. They would add another goal in the 79th minute.

Kate Fredrickson (Pomfret Center, CT) tallied 10 saves in the loss. Goldey had 26 of the games 32 shots. Meghan Carmody (Prospect, CT) recorded three of the Eagles six shots.

"We did the most with what we had," said Matt Micros, head coach. "We had three ladies who only played because we had no subs. The team had a couple quality scoring chances but we just could not convert."

The appearance was the Eagles' first in the CACC playoffs since 2000. Post played the game with only 11 players.
