Women's BasketballWomen's Basketball Travels To Georgian Court January 11, 2008 WATERBURY, Conn.-The Post University women's basketball team travels to Georgian Court for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game. Tip-off is 1 p.m. at the Casino, on the Georgian Court campus. A live video stream is available on-line through the CACC's pay-per-view site, at http://www.cacc.tv/. The Eagles enter Saturday's contest fresh off a 62-52 win over Felician College on Thursday evening. Senior LaToya Coley led all scorers with 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting. In addition, she also netted five three-pointers. Freshman Mallorie Michalak was the only other Eagle to record double-digits, as she had 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting. She also grabbed five rebounds, dished out four assists, and had two blocks and two steals. The win was the first of the year for the Eagles and the first collegiate coaching victory for Head Coach Tracey Garofalo. Coley leads the Eagles with 9.9 points per game, while Michalak and junior Stephanie Goss are tied for second with 8.3 points per game. Goss leads the team in rebounding with 6.1 caroms per contest. Georgian Court enters the game after a 57-48 decision to Columbia Union on Thursday evening. Dee Varley led the Lions with 16 points, while Steph Longdo added eight. GCU enter the game 5-8 overall and 2-2 in the CACC. It has dropped four of the last five games. Varley leads the team in scoring with 14.0 points per game, and Patricia Foley is second on the team with 13.1 points per game. Varley, Foley, and Sasha Simpson each lead the team in rebounding with 6.4 rebounds per game. GCU is averaging 59.7 points per game, and yielding 65.1 ppg. Opponents are out-rebounding the Lions 34.5 to 33.5 per game. Following Saturday's game, the Eagles return to the Drubner
Center, on Thursday, Jan. 15 against Felician for the first time in
five games.
