Women's BasketballWomen's Basketball Hosts Philadelphia On Saturday Afternoon January 25, 2008 WATERBURY, Conn.-The Post University women's basketball team hosts Philadelphia University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at the Drubner Center. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. The game will be carried live on the Eagle Sports Network, as Joe Coss (play-by-play) and Claudel Jean Louis (color analyst) will have the call beginning with the Nike Pre-Game show at 12:35 p.m. Post is 3-11 overall and 3-6 in the CACC. The Eagles are currently in fourth place in the CACC North standings. Philadelphia is 10-6 overall and 3-6 in the CACC. Freshman Mallorie Michalak recorded a game-high 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field, in a 77-53, loss to Caldwell College, last Wednesday evening. She also knocked down two three-pointers, and controlled four caroms. Senior Jackie Sutton also recorded double digits, as she netted 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting. She also grabbed four rebounds, in a team-high 30 minutes of action. Senior LaToya Coley leads the Eagles with 10.3 points per game. She has also drained a team-high 35 three-point field goals. Junior Stephanie Goss is second on the team with 9.4 points per game, and she also leads the team with 6.8 rebounds per contest. Michalak is third on the team in scoring with 9.1 points per game. Philadelphia has been idle since defeating Concordia College 77-49, Monday night. Ashley Webster scored 11 points, while eclipsing the 1,000-point plateau in her collegiate career. Jessica Romano led all scorers with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Amanda Brennan chipped in with 19 points. Romano leads the team with 18.3 points per game, while Webser is chipping in with 14.0 ppg. Post returns to the hardwood on Tuesday, Jan. 29 with a trip to
Bloomfield College. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
