Women's Basketball Drops CACC Road Contest To Goldey-Beacom

WILMINGTON, Del.-Toni Jones led four Goldey-Beacom players in double figures with a game-high 20 points, as the Post University women's basketball team fell to the host 77-40 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game Saturday afternoon.

Jacinda Jones added 15 points, while Janae Weldon and Kellyn Nolan chipped in with 14 and 10 respectively.

The Eagles were led by senior LaToya Coley (Brooklyn, N.Y./Mohawk Valley C.C.) and freshman Tiericka Harrison (Abingdon, Md.) with eight points apiece.

Senior Jackie Sutton (Dryden, N.Y./Topkins-Cortland C.C.) and freshman Mallorie Michalak (Meriden, Conn./Platt) each had seven points. Michalak was 3-of-9 from the field and dished out a pair of assists on the afternoon.

Junior Stephanie Goss (Manchester, Conn./Manchester) tied for a game-high with nine rebounds.

GBC connected on 50 percent from the field knocking down 26-of-52 shots, while the Eagles struggled, shooting only 21.3 percent (13-61). GBC connected on 5-of-6 from three-point range, while Post hit only 3-of-15 from distance.

Post was out rebounded 48-37, but controlled the offensive glass enjoying a 23-14 advantage. The Eagles also forced 21 turnovers which led to 16 points.

The Eagles return to the hardwood on Tuesday evening, as they travel to Holy Family University for a 6 p.m. tip.
