Women's Basketball Number-Eight Seed In CACC Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn.-The Post University women's basketball team will take on Holy Family University on Wednesday evening, in the first round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Championships.

Post is the number-eight seed after defeating Georgian Court 71-66 on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off for the Eagles and the No. 1 Tigers is slated for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Campus Center, on the Holy Family University campus in Philadelphia, Pa.

Holy Family won both meetings this season between the two schools, winning 75-48 on December 2 in Philadelphia, and 91-60 on January 20 at the Drubner Center.

The Eagles finished the regular season winning four of their last six games, and six of their last 10, heading into Wednesday's match up with the number-10 team in the Country, according to the latest USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Poll.

In addition to the Post-Holy Family first-round contest, No. 2 Philadelphia will host No. 7 Wilmington, No. 3 USP will entertain No. 6 Bloomfield College, and No. 4 Dominican will host No. 5 Goldey-Beacom.

The winners of the first-round games on Wednesday will advance to Dominican College for the semi-finals and finals on Friday and Saturday. Friday's semi-final games will tip-off at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., while the championship game is slated for Saturday at 1 p.m.
