Women's Basketball Falls To Holy Family In CACC First Round

PHILADELPHIA-The Post University women's basketball team, the number-eight seed in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Championships, fell to the number-one seed Holy Family University, 73-47 at the Campus Center on Wednesday evening.

Post (9-19, 9-13 CACC) was led by senior Tadj Williams who had 15 points and five rebounds, while senior Marjorie Prado added 14 points, including four three-pointers.

In the first half, the Eagles shot 50 percent from the field, connecting on 12-of-24 shots. The Eagles also connected on 4-of-8 (50 percent) from three-point range. Prado led the Eagles with 11 points on 4-of-6 from the field, and three treys in the opening 20 minutes.

Holy Family (26-2) shot only 44.8 percent from the field in the first half, and 23.1 percent from three-point range. Post trailed by only four points with 9:48 left until halftime, at 19-15.

After hanging tough with the number-10 team in the country according to the latest ESPN/USA Today Division II coaches poll, the Eagles hot shooting in the first half, went cold in the second, as Holy Family went on a 20-2 run to take a 69-39 lead.

Chrissy Kosiek led Holy Family with 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting, while Kelly Killion added 15, and Megan Bauer chipped in with 11.

Post finished the regular season winning four out of its last six games, and six out of its last 10 games, to reach the CACC Championships for the second time, under second-year Head Coach Todd McEvoy.

This evening's game was the final contest, for Post's three graduating seniors, Telisha Moultrie, Prado, and Williams.
