BLAUVELT, N.Y.-Senior Tadj Williams had 18 points on 5-of-11 shooting, as the Post University women's basketball team dropped an 85-55 decision to Dominican College, Thursday evening on the road at the Hennessy Center.
Post falls to 8-18 overall and 8-13 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play. Dominican improves to 18-8 overall and 14-7 in the CACC.
Junior LaToya Coley was the only other Eagle in double figures with 14 points, including four three pointers. Junior Shannon Firetto added eight points and grabbed four rebounds, and dished out five assists.
The Eagles struggled from the field shooting only 32.8 percent (19-58) from the field, and 20 percent (4-20) from three-point range. Post converted 65 percent (13-20) of its free throw attempts on the evening.
Kristen Tracey led all scorers for Dominican with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field, and six treys. She also grabbed seven rebounds. Adele Laskowski added 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting. Dana Rotio chipped in with 11 points.
Dominican shot 50.8 percent (31-61) from the field, 52.6 percent (10-19) from three-point range, and 81.3 percent (13-16) from the free throw line.
Each team controlled 37 rebounds a piece, but the Eagles did hold a 14-8 edge on the offensive glass. The Eagles turned the basketball over 26 times, while Dominican mishandled the basketball 19 times.
Post will close out the regular season on Saturday at Georgian
Court University. Tip-off is slated for 12 p.m.
