Women's BasketballWomen's Basketball Falls To Philadelphia University, 84-68 January 27, 2007 WATERBURY, Conn.-The Post University women's basketball team dropped a tough 84-68 decision, to Philadelphia University on Saturday afternoon, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game at the Drubner Center. The Eagles fall to 4-15 overall and 4-10 in CACC play, while Philadelphia who is 10th in the Northeast Region of the NCAA Division II, improves to 12-6 overall and 10-4 in the CACC. Senior Marjorie Prado and junior LaToya Coley, each had 24 points to lead the Eagles on the afternoon. Prado was 8-of-18 from the field, and connected on 6-of-6 from the charity stripe. Coley, shot 8-of-18 from the floor, and drained six treys on the day. Senior Tadj Williams had six points and grabbed 12 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass. The Eagles struggled from the field, connecting on 29.7 percent (22-74) from the field, and 30.6 percent from three-point range. Post was near perfect from the free throw line, connecting on 13-of-16 attempts (81.3 percent). Philadelphia had a balanced scoring effort, as five players reached double-digits. Alisha Ferguson led the way with 22 points and 14 rebounds. She also scored her 1,000th-point at the 10:35 mark of the first half. Meg Abele and Nicole Mechell each added 16 points, while Ashley Webster had 11 points and Jessica Romano added 10. Philadelphia shot 50 percent (27-54) from the field, including 57.1 percent (16-28) from the field in the first half. The Rams also shot 16.7 percent (1-6) from three-point range and 90.6 percent (29-32) from the free throw line. Philadelphia controlled the boards, enjoying a 47-36 edge, but the Eagles held the advantage on the offensive boards, 20-11. Post returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to Felician
