Women's Basketball Falls To Bloomfield At Home

WATERBURY, Conn.-The Post University women's basketball team dropped an 87-51 decision to Bloomfield College, Tuesday evening, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game at the Drubner Center.

Three scorers in double figures led Post (3-11, 3-6 CACC), as junior Jennifer Rose had 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field. Rose knocked down three treys on the evening and had three rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench.

Seniors Marjorie Prado and Tadj Williams each had 11 points. Williams also grabbed 10 rebounds and had three assists and three steals in 33 minutes. Prado also had three assists and three steals in the contest.

Bloomfield (7-6, 6-3 CACC) was led by DeAnjole Felton who had a game-high 27 points, while shooting 9-of-13 from the floor. She had eight three-pointers and grabbed four rebounds in 32 minutes of action.

Shantae Barnes recorded a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds, while Marissa Franklin had 16 points.

Post struggled from the field shooting 29.5 percent (18-61) from the field, 25 percent (7-28) from three-point range, and 47.1 percent (8-17) from the free throw line. Bloomfield was hot throughout shooting 46.7 percent (28-60) from the field, 47.8 percent (11-23) from three-point range and 58.8 percent (20-34) from the foul line.

Bloomfield held an edge on the boards, holding a 50-39 margin, and an 11-8 edge on the offensive glass. There were a total of 35 turnovers in the game (20 Post, 15 Bloomfield).

Post is back in action on Thursday evening, for a CACC contest at Caldwell College. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
