Women's BasketballWomen's Basketball Wins Second Game In A Row, 73-68 January 13, 2007 WATERBURY, Conn.-Led by three scorers in double figures, the Post University women's basketball team won its second game in a row, with a 73-68, win over Georgian Court University, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Saturday, at the Drubner Center. Senior Marjorie Prado had a team-high 19 points to lead the Eagles (3-10, 3-5 CACC) on the afternoon. Prado connected on 5-of-10 from the field and hit two three-pointers. She grabbed five rebounds and dished out three assists. Fellow senior Tadj Williams netted 18 points on 4-of-8 from the floor. She also sank 10 of her 12 tosses at the charity stripe. Williams also grabbed five rebounds and dished out six assists in 38 minutes. Junior LaToya Coley rounded out the trio with 15 points, including five three-pointers. It was tight throughout the second half, although the Eagles were able to have the lead most of the way. With 4:15 left to go senior Telisha Moultrie gave the Eagles a 61-57 lead. The lead was halved by Sophia Iloh's lay-up, on the next trip down the court. Georigan Court (3-11, 1-8 CACC) took a 62-61 lead with a trey from Melinda Hunold, at the 3:27 mark. A three from Prado put the Eagles back on top with just over three minutes remaining. But a foul by the Eagles, put Ashley Lobbato on the free throw line, and she sank both to make it 64-all with 1:26 left to play. The Eagles would take the lead for good on the next trip down, as junior Jennifer Rose drained a three-pointer to make it 67-64. The Eagles would score the rest of their points at the free throw line. Iloh led all scorers with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Hunold chipped in with 17 points. Stephanie Longdo added 12 points, as well. Post connected on 43.4 percent (23-53) from the field, and 55.6 percent (10-18) from three-point range on the afternoon. At the free throw line, the Eagles sank 17-of-22 (77.3%) of their chances. Georgian Court shot 40 percent (26-65) from the field, 41.2 percent (7-17) from three-point range, and 60 percent (9-15) from the free throw line. Georgian Court, held a 40-33 edge on the glass, including a 15-7 margin on the offensive boards. Both teams turned the ball over 19 times, and the Eagles dished out 12 assists.
