Women's BasketballWomen's Basketball Defeats Wilmington On The Road January 11, 2007 NEW CASTLE, Del.-Senior Marjorie Prado notched a double-double to help lead the Post University women's basketball team to an 85-77 win over Wilmington College on the road at Pratt Gymnasium Thursday evening. The Eagles (2-10, 2-5 CACC) had five scorers in double figures, led by senior Telisha Moultrie who had 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting. She was two rebounds shy of a double-double. Prado tallied 17 points and grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds. She also dished out five assists, and had three steals in 40 minutes of action. It was the seventh game in a row, that the senior guard has scored 10 or more points. Senior Tadj Williams also scored 17 points for the Eagles, connecting on 6-of-10 from the field, and grabbing eight rebounds and five assists in 35 minutes. Junior LaToya Coley added 15 points, connecting on four three-pointers for the second game in a row. Junior Jennifer Rose added 11 points, while also connecting on three shots from three-point range. The Eagles opened the game with a trey by Coley, and never looked back, leading wire-to-wire. Post went into the locker room at halftime leading by seven points, and extended the lead to 22 with just over five minutes to go in the game. Wilmington (7-5/4-3 CACC) had a 20-5 run in the second half, but the Eagles were able to withstand the late rally from the Wildcats. Amelia Simmons had a game-high 25 points for the Wildcats, while Sherrell Holmes had 18 points and 12 assists. Nordia Henry chipped in with 15 points, and Jamie Gallagher added 11. The Eagles shot 46.2 percent (30-65) from the field, and 40 percent (10-25) from three-point range. At the charity stripe the Eagles connected on 15-of-23 (65.2 percent). Wilmington shot 41.5 percent (27-65) from the field, and 28.6 percent (8-28) from three-point range. At the free throw line the Wildcats shot 88.2 percent (15-17). Post enjoyed a 44-35 edge on the boards, and a 15-10 margin on the offensive glass. Despite turning the ball over 18 times the Eagles were able to force the Wildcats into 16 turnovers. Post recorded 19 assists on the evening. The Eagles return to action on Saturday afternoon, as it
welcomes Georgian Court to the Drubner Center. Tip-off is slated
for 1 p.m.
