Volleyball Sweeps Caldwell For Second Win In A Row

WATERBURY, Conn.-Junior Kerry Smith had 15 kills and nine digs, as the Post University women's volleyball team defeated Caldwell College 3-0 (30-16, 32-30, 30-26) Thursday evening at the Drubner Center.

With the win, the Eagles improve to 2-8 overall and 2-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play. Caldwell falls to 0-9 on the season and 0-3 in the CACC.

Smith recorded her fourth consecutive match with 10 or more kills.

Freshman Natasha Loving helped the Eagle effort with 12 kills and four digs.

Senior Desere Obregon had 37 assists, while senior Vicky Ducharme led the Eagles with 10 digs. Ducharme needs 19 digs to reach the 1,000-dig plateau.

Caldwell's Cory Roesing had 12 kills, while Kendra Kane had 27 assists, and Kathleen Estes led all players with 12 digs.

Post had 39 kills, 38 assists, 16 service aces, 41 digs, and four total blocks, while Caldwell had 28 kills, 28 assists, six service aces, 32 digs, and two total blocks on the evening.

Caldwell and Post will close out the season series on October 25 with a CACC match at Caldwell.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday afternoon, as they head to Goldey-Beacom College for a tri-match with St. Anselm.
