Queens Sweeps Volleyball, 3-0

WATERBURY, Conn.-Enobong Shammah had 16 kills to help Queens College defeat the Post University women's volleyball team, 3-0 (30-17, 30-23, 30-24) in a non-conference match at the Drubner Center, Wednesday evening.

Freshman Natasha Loving led the Eagle offense with nine kills.

Senior Desere Obregon added 19 assists, and senior Kerri Smith had eight digs for Post. Smith needs 23 digs to eclipse the 1,000-dig plateau. Obregon added seven digs.

The Eagles had 12 service aces on the evening, as Loving and senior Vicky Ducharme each had three. Three other players recorded a pair for Post.

Shammah had six digs in addition to he match-high kill total. Marianna Megas dished out 25 assists and Narin Burcu Gulec recorded 11 digs to lead all players.

Queens recorded 34 kills, 28 assists, 37 digs and five total blocks, while the Eagles notched 24 kills, 20 assists, 34 digs and one total block.

Post returns to action on Thursday evening, as it travels down Route 8 to tangle with the University of Bridgeport in a non-conference match. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
