Volleyball Falls In Tri-Match At UMass.-Lowell

LOWELL, Mass.-The Post University volleyball team, dropped both ends of a tri-match against UMass.-Lowell and Concordia on Saturday afternoon at the Costello Athletic Center.

Post fell to the host RiverHawks 0-3 (20-30, 18-30, 24-30) in the first match of the day, and finished the day with an 0-3 (30-32, 30-32, 18-30) loss to Concordia in the second match of the day.

In the first match against the host Riverhawks (1-1), the Eagles (0-3) were led by junior Kerri Smith, who had six kills and a season-high 18 digs. Senior Vicky Ducharme added seven kills and three digs, while also registering four service aces in the match.

UML was led by Sarah Coscia and Erin Hugg who each had eight kills, while Allie Eide led the defense with 16 digs.

In the second match of the afternoon forthe Eagles, sophomore Nicole Gizzi had eight kills and 11 digs Smith recorded six kills and a pair of blocks.

Concordia defeated UML in five games 3-2 (30-24, 23-30, 20-30, 30-23,15-13).

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday evening as Queens College comes to the Drubner Center for a non-conference match. It is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
