Volleyball Falls To Bloomfield, 3-0

WATERBURY, Conn.-Junior Kerry Smith notched her sixth double-double of the season, as the Post University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (17-30, 22-30, 28-30) decision to Bloomfield College on Wednesday evening, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at the Drubner Center.

Smith led the Eagles (4-12, 4-3 CACC) with 12 kills and 13 digs, while freshman Natasha Loving had seven kills.

Senior Desere Obregon dished out 27 assists, for Post. She is now 165 assists away from the 2,000-assist plateau.

Senior Michelle Stotz had 12 digs, and senior Vicky Ducharme had six kills and 11 digs. The Nashua, N.H. native also recorded four service aces on the evening.

Ursula Pereira led all players with 15 kills for Bloomfield (6-13, 5-1 CACC), while Sonia Perez dished out 26 assists, and Tiffany Jackson and Nilmara Zanette each had 10 digs for Bloomfield.

The two teams will meet for the second time this season, on November 1, at Bloomfield College.

The Eagles will travel to Chestnut Hill, for the first-ever meeting as members of the CACC, on Saturday afternoon. Post returns to the Drubner Center on October 11 for the second meeting of the season against Nyack College. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
