Volleyball Falls In Tri-Match Against Philadelphia, Franklin Pierce

WATERBURY, Conn.-The Post University women's volleyball team, suffered a pair of defeats in a tri-match against Philadelphia University and Franklin Pierce University on Saturday afternoon in the Drubner Center.

The Eagles (8-20, 8-6 CACC) dropped both matches on the day, falling to Philadelphia 3-1 (30-22, 30-22, 29-31, 30-21) in the first match, and falling 3-0 (30-27, 30-15, 30-21) in the nightcap.

Philadelphia
Freshman Natasha Loving had 18 kills to lead four players in double-digit kill totals. Senior Telisha Moultrie had 12 kills, and sophomore Nicole Gizzi and senior Vicky Ducharme each had 11 kills for the Eagles.

Senior Desere Obregon had 55 assists.

Ducharme also had 20 assists for her fourth double-double of the season. Junior Kerry Smith had 19 digs and senior Michelle Stotz had 16 digs.

Post had 61 kills, 57 assists, eight service aces, 66 digs and two blocks, while Philadelphia had 45 kills, 42 digs, 14 service aces, 55 digs, and three total blocks in the match.

The Rams were led by Emily Krauss and Celena Rendon who each had 13 kills, Lauren Hoover had 36 assists, and Rendon added 13 digs for the double-double.

Franklin Pierce

Loving had 12 kills to lead the Eagle offense in the nightcap. Obregon added 28 assists, and Stotz recorded eight digs for Post in the match.

Post had 33 kills, 32 assists, three service aces, 24 digs, and three total blocks in the match. FPU had 43 kills, 39 assists, 11 service aces, 36 digs, and five total blocks in the match.

The Eagles are back in action on Thursday, Nov. 1, as they travel to Bloomfield College for the second meeting of the season with the Deacons. Bloomfield took the first match with Post 3-0 (17-30, 22-30, 28-30) on October 3 at the Drubner Center.
