VolleyballObregon Records 2,000th Assist, As Volleyball Falls To Dominican October 18, 2007 BLAUVELT, N.Y.-Senior Desere Obregon recorded her 2,000th career assist, as the Post University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to 3-0 (30-24, 30-26, 30-28) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at the Hennessy Center. Obregon entered this evening's match, needing 19 assists to reach the 2,000-assist plateau. The New Jersey native also becomes the third player this season to reach a milestone, as junior Kerry Smith and senior Vicky Ducharme recorded their 1,000th digs, earlier this year. Smith led all players with 18 kills, while Ducharme and senior Telisha Moultrie added six kills on the evening for the Eagles. Senior Michelle Stotz led Post with 11 digs, while Smith and Ducharme added seven digs apiece. Post had 42 kills in the match, 34 assists, nine service aces, 34 digs, and four total blocks. Dominican was led by Theresa Hanneman who had 15 kills, while Kaitlin Earl had 28 assists, and Kinikia Collier who had 12 digs. The Eagles return to the Drubner Center on Saturday afternoon,
as they host Wilmington College and Stonehill in a tri-match,
beginning at 1 p.m.
