VolleyballVolleyball Wins Second Match In A Row, Beating Nyack 3-1 October 11, 2007 WATERBURY, Conn.-Junior Kerry Smith had 18 kills to lead three Post University women's volleyball players in double-digit kill totals, as the Eagles defeated Nyack College 3-1 (30-25, 34-32, 25-30, 30-18) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at the Drubner Center, Thursday evening. Smith recorded double-digit kill totals for the fourth match in a row, and 11 of her last 12 matches for the Eagles (6-12, 6-3 CACC). Earlier in the week, she was named to the CACC honor roll. Freshman Natasha Loving added 15 kills for the Eagles. Sophomore Nicole Gizzi rounded out the trio amassing 10 on the evening. Senior Desere Obregon dished out 48 assists for the Eagles. For her collegiate career, she has 1,905 assists following this evening's match. Senior Vicky Ducharme led the Eagles with 13 digs. She went over the 1,000-dig plateau earlier in the season against Nyack, and after tonight's match has 1,079 digs for her career. Smith, Obregon, and senior Michelle Stotz each added nine digs, as Post recorded 53 in the match. Nyack (6-10, 5-4 CACC) was led by Wendy Paige who had 11 kills, while Tara Leegwater had 16 assists, and Samantha Friday added 11 assists. Colleen Weidman led all players with 15 digs. Lacey McCabe added 11 digs. Post recorded 18 service aces in the match, led by Obregon who had a team-high six. Gizzi added five for the Eagles. The Eagles will hit the road on Saturday afternoon, with a
tri-match at Holy Family University, with Molloy College, before
returning to the Drubner Center on October 16, against Felician
College.
