Volleyball Win Third Match In A Row, Over USP, 3-0

WATERBURY, Conn.-Senior Tadj Williams had 20 kills to lead the Post University volleyball team to a 3-0 (30-15, 30-25, 30-20) decision over University of the Sciences in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Saturday afternoon at the Drubner Center.

With the win, the Eagles improve to 10-16 overall and 8-8 in the CACC, while USP falls to 8-15 overall and 5-9 in the CACC.

Freshman Haleema Linares finished with 10 kills and five total blocks (3 solo, 2 assists). Sophomore Kerri Smith added nine kills and 13 digs, in helping the Eagles reach the .500 mark in conference play.

Freshman Gabrielle Hopkins recorded 40 assists. It was the sixth time this season that the freshman has had 40 or more assists in a match, for Post.

Sophomore Michelle Stotz had 15 digs.

Lindsey Wenderoth who had eight kills led USP, and Kayleen Piszczek dished out 20 assists. Claire Tauschek led all players with 19 digs.

The Eagles enjoyed a 49-25 edge in kills, a 41-22 margin in assists, a 51-48 edge in digs, and an 11-4 lead in total blocks.

Post is off until next Saturday, as they host Assumption College in a non-conference match beginning at 1 p.m. in the Drubner Center.
