Volleyball Sweeps Caldwell, 3-0

WATERBURY, Conn.-The Post University volleyball team swept Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Caldwell College, 3-0 (30-28, 30-23, 30-24) on Wednesday evening in the Drubner Center.

With the win the Eagles improve to 8-16 overall and 7-8 in the CACC. Caldwell drops to 0-15 overall and 0-14 in the CACC, in its first season of intercollegiate play.

Senior Tadj Williams recorded a match-high 16 kills and freshman Haleema Linares chipped in with 13 kills to lead the Eagle offense. Junior Vicky Ducharme and freshman Nicole Gizzi each had seven kills.

Freshman Gabrielle Hopkins dished out 36 assists for the Eagles. Ducharme led Post with nine digs and recorded four service aces. Linares led the way with five service aces.

Phylicia Holmes had nine kills, and Laura Ciesla had 12 assists for Caldwell. Laura DeVico had a match-high 13 digs for Caldwell, and Amy Ransom also recorded double-digit dig totals with 11.

Post returns to action on Thursday evening as it hosts Stonehill College in a non-conference match, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Drubner Center.
