Volleyball Sweeps Felician On The Road

RUTHERFORD, N.J.-Senior Tadj Williams (Albany, N.Y./Bishop Maginn), led the Post University volleyball team, to a 3-0 (30-27, 32-30, 30-24) decision, over Felician College with 23 kills, Thursday evening at Job Gym.

Williams also recorded a .452 hitting percentage, while sophomore Kerri Smith (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 18 digs, helping the Eagles (7-15, 6-7 CACC) to their second win over Felician this season.

Freshman Gabrielle Hopkins (Yonkers, N.Y./Marble Hill) recorded 42 assists, and sophomore Michelle Stotz (Naugatuck, Conn./Naugatuck) had 12 digs.

With the score tied at 14-14 in the first game, the Eagles went on a run to take a 21-16 lead, and held off a late rally to win the match by three points. The second game was tightly contested, as the teams were never separated by more than three points. In the third game, Post trailed by as much as 17-12, but rallied to close out the match.

LaKeisha Milstrey had 21 kills, nine digs and four blocks, and Laura Peskosky added 12 kills for Felician (2-14, 2-11 CACC).

Post returns home on Saturday for a Homecoming clash with Georgian Court, with a 1 p.m. match at the Drubner Center.
