Softball Falls On The Road To Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y.-The Post University softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games to Adelphi University 3-0, and 8-0, Thursday afternoon at Janet L. Ficke Field. Adelphi improves to 16-12 overall, while the Eagles fall to 11-13 on the season.

In the first game, Kristin Brennan singled to drive in Allison Rice in the bottom of the second inning, to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.  

Aldephi added two more runs in the bottom of the third inning as Stephanie Byster ripped a two-run single, that plated Samantha Johnston and Diana DiPano.

Sophomore Samantha Canning had the lone base-hit for the Eagles.

In the nightcap, the Panther's scored two runs in the second, two runs in the third, one run in the fourth, and three in the fifth, as the game was called in the fifth inning.

Senior Desere Obregon went 1-for-2 for the Eagles at the plate.

The Eagles will return to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Saturday afternoon, as they travel to Holy Family University for a twinbill beginning at 1 p.m.
