Three Softball Players Ranked In NCAA Division II Statistics

WATERBURY, Conn.-Three Post University softball players are ranked in the latest NCAA Division II statistical rankings, with games played through March 30.

Freshman Tierney Marceau is ranked 86th in homeruns per game. In 20 games this season, the freshman from Norton, Mass., leads the team with four homeruns. She is second on the team with a .367 batting average and has 22 hits, and 11 runs batted in so far this season.

Senior Caitlin McAveney is 82nd among Division II players with a 2.02 earned run average. She is eighth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in that category, as well as sixth in the CACC with 51 strikeouts. McAveney is also steady with the bat, as she leads the team with a .389 batting average with five doubles and seven runs batted in.

Senior Desere Obregon is 60th in the rankings with a team-high 10 walks. She is tied for third in the conference in walks.

As a team, the Eagles are 40th in double plays with seven double plays, and 76th with a team earned run average of 2.62.

The Eagles return to the diamond on Wednesday afternoon, as they host Nyack College in a CACC doubleheader at LaMoy Field. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
