SoftballSoftball Opens Northern Campaign At Home March 17, 2008 WATERBURY, Conn.-After opening the season winning seven of its first 10 games, during spring break in Florida, the Post University softball team begins the northern portion of its schedule with a pair of mid-week doubleheader at LaMoy Field. Post will face St. Thomas Aquinas for the second and third times this season, on Tuesday, March 18 at 2:30 p.m. The Eagles defeated STAC on March 9, in Fort Pierce, Fla. on the opening day of their spring break trip. The Eagles will then face Route 8 rival, the University of Bridgeport on Wednesday, March 19 for a doubleheader at 2:30 p.m. The mid-week contests will serve as a warm-up for Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action which begins this Saturday, as the Eagles travel to the City of Brotherly Love, to face the University of Sciences in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. The Eagles, who were picked to finish eighth in the CACC Preseason Coaches Poll, are 7-3 under first-year Head Coach Tracey Garofalo. Post is led by freshman catcher Tierney Marceau who is leading the team in hitting, with .469 batting average (15-of-32), and has four homeruns and 10 runs batted in. Sophomore Stephanie Carrillo has four wins this
season, while senior Caitlin McAveney has three,
and a 1.81 earned run average.
