SoftballSoftball Falls To Millersville In Day Two Of Spring Trip March 10, 2008 FORT PIERCE, Fla.-The Post University softball team dropped a pair of games to Millersville University Monday evening, during the second day of the team's annual spring break trip. Post (1-3) lost the first game 4-1, and led 2-1 going into the top of the seventh inning, before Millersville scored five times in its last at-bat to take the twinbill from the Eagles. In the first game, Millersville scored four runs in its first at-bat, and held off a late rally by the Eagles in the seventh inning. Michelle Stotz reached on an error by the Millersville shortstop, then stole second, and scored when freshman Tierney Marceau ripped a run-scoring double. In the second game, sophomore Samantha Canning smashed her first home run of the season, and her third of her career with a solo shot in the second inning. Post took a 2-1 lead in the third when sophomore Emily Archer ripped a single that plated sophomore Stephanie Carrillo, who stroked a lead-off double. The lead would stay that way until the top of the seventh inning, when Millersville batted around and scored five runs on four hits and one error, to take a 6-2 lead. Marceau had three hits in the second game to lead the Eagles on the night. Post was to face Florida Tech on Tuesday in Melbourne, Fla.,
however that game was cancelled, and the Eagles will now face Penn
State Beaver in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday in Fort
Pierce. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
