SoftballSoftball Splits With AIC April 1, 2007 SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-Junior Allison Williams was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored in the first game, as the Post University softball team split a doubleheader with American International at Groff Field Sunday afternoon. Post (6-12) won the first game 8-0, but fell in the nightcap 2-0. In the first game the Eagles pounded out 10 hits, and scored seven runs over the final two innings, including four in the top of the sixth inning. Junior Caitlin McAveney went 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs batted in and a run scored in the opener to help her cause. McAveney shutout the Yellowjackets for six innings, giving up five hits and one walk, while striking out six batters. Senior Priscillia Encarnaca was the third Eagle to have a multi-hit game, in the opener, as she went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs batted in. Unfortunately for the Eagles in the nightcap, AIC starter Sara Swepston held bats at bay, pitching a complete-game one-hitter, giving up two walks, and striking out three. Senior Megan Pappas was tagged with the loss, as she gave up two runs on seven hits and three walks. She struck out two in six innings of work. Post returns to action on Tuesday afternoon, as they host Queens
College for a non-conference doubleheader at LaMoy Field. First
