Softball

Waterbury, CT-The Post University softball team was eliminated from playoff contention after dropping both end of a doubleheader to Goldey-Beacom College.  Post lost the opener, 8-7 and the nightcap 2-1.

In the first game, Post led 6-0, but Goldey scored eight runs over the final two innings for the come-from-behind win.  The Eagles lost the second game in Goldey's final at-bat as well.

On the day, Vanessa Lagares had two hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored.  Caitlin McAveney also had two hits.  Shannon Firetto added two hits and two runs scored, while Priscilla Encarnacao tallied two hits with a RBI and a run.

The Eagles will conclude the season Saturday versus Wilmington College at La Moy Field.  First pitch is slated for 1:00 PM
