Waterbury, CT—The 2006 men’s tennis inaugural season will get underway Friday at American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The first year will be one in which we hope the kids have fun and do their best,” said Ken Nolan men’s & women’s tennis coach.

“The Post University department of Intercollegiate Athletics is a firm believer is providing an opportunity for the students to participate in collegiate athletics,” said Associate Vice President for Athletics & Fitness, Dan Mara.

Team members include a mix of students and student-athletes who are now playing dual sports.

“This season is not about winning or losing, but about giving people a chance to play a fun sport and hopefully our team will get better as every day goes by,” added Nolan.

Soccer players, Patrick Meyer, Dan Nadel, Mike Aeschliman, Shemi Shlomo and Enda Crehan along with new student-athletes Matt Johnson, Tony Arroyo, and Yoshinori Ito comprise the 2006 roster.

“Students of all ability levels are encouraged to come and try out for next season’s men’s and women’s tennis teams,” said Nolan who is blazing the recruiting trails looking for all-comers.  “We are going to make this program a winning one, but we will not exclude anyone from partaking in the great sport of tennis.”
