Men's SoccerMen's Soccer Falls 3-1, At Caldwell September 25, 2007 CALDWELL, N.J.-Sophomore Eurica Trowers netted his sixth goal of the season, and eighth of his career, as the Post University men's soccer team fell to Caldwell College 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Caldwell Field. In his last two matches, Trowers has scored four of his team-leading six goals on the season. On Monday, he was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week, after tallying three in a 4-0 win over Chestnut Hill last Saturday afternoon. Post falls to 2-8 overall and 1-2 in CACC play, while Caldwell improves to 5-2-2 overall and 3-0 in the CACC. The Eagles broke the ice in the 22nd minute, as Trowers took a free kick from about 25 yards out, and placed it into the back of the net, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Caldwell tied it in the 35th minute, as Brian Broderick netted the first of two goals off a long pass from Jan Marco Jiras. Chad Bennett scored the go-ahead go in the 53rd minute, while eight minutes later; Broderick scored an insurance goal for the Cougars. Eagle goalkeeper Dan Nadel recorded six saves on the afternoon, while Caldwell's John Plaugic stopped one shot. Caldwell out shot the Eagles 21-10 and held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Post returns to action on Saturday afternoon, as it hosts
nationally-ranked Dominican College in a CACC match at LaMoy Field.
Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m., following the Post women's soccer
match against Georgian Court at 1 p.m.
