Men's SoccerTrowers Nets Three Goals, To Lead Men's Soccer Past Chestnut Hill September 22, 2007 WATERBURY, Conn.-Sophomore Eurica Trowers netted a career-high three goals, to lead the Post University men's soccer team to a 4-1 win over Chestnut Hill, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match, on an overcast Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field. With the win, the Eagles improve to 2-7 overall and 1-1 in CACC play. Chestnut Hill falls to 3-2-1 overall and 0-2 in the CACC. Despite, the Eagles taking early control of the contest, Chestnut Hill scored the first goal of the game in the 18th minute, as Andrew Thorne converted a penalty kick opportunity. However, the Eagles would knot the score in the 22nd minute, when senior Alex Brito, fed Trowers who ripped a shot into the back of the goal, from about 10 yard out. Post took the lead for good, in the 39th minute, when sophomore Johan Pineda, dribbled down the left side of the field, went toward the goal, and was taken down on a foul. That set up a penalty kick, for senior Raleigh Woodburn, who converted his chance, giving the Eagles a 2-1 lead. Post would find the back of the net again in the 53rd minute, as the Eagles came down on a rush, and senior Pat Meyer booted the ball from about 35 yards out, which found the foot of Trowers who raced in from the left side to net his fourth goal of the season to that point. The Eagles closed out the scoring in the 85th minute, when Woodburd fed Trowers for his third goal of the afternoon, and fifth of the season. Junior Dan Nadel recorded the win in goal for the Eagles stopping one shot. Chestnut Hill's Duhan Malali stopped two shots in 84:19, while Adley Amzovski played the rest of the way. Post outshot Chestnut Hill 10-3, including an 8-2 margin in the first half. The Eagles also enjoyed a 9-4 edge in corner kicks, recording seven in the first half. The Eagles return to the pitch on Tuesday afternoon, when they
travel to Caldwell College for a CACC match up. Kickoff is slated
for 4 p.m.
