Men's SoccerMen's Soccer Advances To CACC Championship Match October 26, 2006 RUTHERFORD, N.J.-Junior Maurice Johnson (Bronx, N.Y./Bryant & Stratton) gave the Post University men's soccer team at 1-0 win, in the semifinals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Championships at Tryon Field at Felician College on Thursday afternoon. With the win the Eagles advance to the finals on Saturday against Dominican College. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. at Felician College in Rutherford, N.J. Both teams felt each other out in the first half, before Johnson tallied his ninth goal of the season for the Eagles (9-6-5). Freshman Johan Pineda (Lima, Peru/San Jose) fed Johnson, who broke free of the defense and placed a hard shot into the lower left part of the goal at the 51:54 mark of the contest. Sophomore Michael Aeschliman (Torrington, Conn./Torrington) recorded the win for the Eagles, as he made one save to notch his first shutout of the season. Dan Mangat played the entire match for Wilmington (11-5-4) and made two saves. The Eagles kept the ball in the Wilmington end as they recorded 10 shots in the second half, and enjoyed a 14-9 margin in the match. Wilmington had a slight 4-3 edge in corner kicks, but Post had a 3-0 lead in the second half. Both teams were guilty of 10 fouls on the afternoon. In the regular season, the Eagles dropped a 3-1 decision to Dominican College on September 23. Dominican tallied the first goal of the afternoon, before Johnson tied it with his third goal of the season to that point. Dominican broke the tie at the 58:22 mark, and added an insurance goal at the 85:53 mark. The match between Post and Dominican will start following the CACC Women's Soccer Championship match between Holy Family and Philadelphia University, which is slated to begin at 12 p.m. For directions or more information please logon to http://www.caccathletics.org/,
