Men's Soccer Seeded Number-Three In CACC Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn.-The Post University men's soccer team is the number-three seed in the 2006 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Championships. The Eagles will face Felician College in the quarterfinals at LaMoy Field on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Dominican and Wilmington earned the bye in the quarterfinals, and will advance to the semifinals at Felician College on Thursday, Oct. 26. Caldwell College will host Holy Family in the other quarterfinal match up on October 24.

In the first meeting of the season between Post and Felician, on October 3, Adam Sabastian (Naugatuck, Conn./Kennedy) tallied his second goal to that point of the season, to tie the game at 1-1, where it would end after two overtime periods.

The Eagles held a 30-13 edge in shots and a 9-6 margin in corner kicks. Sophomore Dan Nadel (Farmington, Conn./Farmington) made seven saves in goal for Post.

Should the Eagles get past Felician, they will square off with the number-two seed Wilmington College, on Thursday at Felician College, the host of the semi-finals and finals. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw last weekend in Delaware. Junior Maurice Johnson (Bronx, N.Y./Bryant & Stratton) had the lone goal for the Eagles.

Post will close out the regular season with a home match on Thursday against Mercy College beginning at 3 p.m. at LaMoy Field. Post will also travel to the University of New Haven on Saturday for an 11 a.m. kickoff.
