Men's Basketball


The Storyline:
The Post University men's basketball team returns to the Drubner Center this evening for the second game of the season against Nyack College ... Post won the first meeting 70-61 on December 1 at Bowman Gym on the Nyack campus ... The Eagles enter this evening's game with a 6-4 record in the CACC North, while Nyack is tied for second with a 5-4 CACC mark.

Last Time Out:
Freshman guard Garvin McAlister's three-pointer tied the game at 77-77, with time running out in regulation, and the Post University men's basketball team, scored nine points in the extra session, as the Eagles defeated Bloomfield, 86-81, Tuesday evening on the road.

McAlister, who scored double digits for the third game in a row and for the fourth time in his brief career with the Green and White, was one of five Eagles' (9-10, 6-4 CACC) to record double digits, with 10 points.

Senior swingman Arthur Robertson led Post, with a team-high 23 points and 16 rebounds. The senior, is coming off a 23-point, 19-rebound effort last Saturday against Philadelphia University.

Junior forward Omar Robinson chipped in with 14 points, and three three-pointers. Junior forward AJ Reitter added 12 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks in 37 minutes. Senior forward Peter Lawal recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Lawal had six offensive rebounds, and had two blocks and two steals for the Eagles.

Last Time Against Nyack:
Senior swingman Arthur Robertson netted 25 points, and grabbed his 600th career rebound, as the Post University men's basketball team defeated Nyack College, 76-60

Robertson, scored 17 points in the second half for the Eagles, connecting on 5-of-10 from the field, in the second stanza. He finished the game shooting 8-of-14 from the field, while grabbing six rebounds.

Junior center Jesse Iyalekhue also had a season-high as he poured in 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting. Ten of his season-best scoring output came in the first half.

On Deck:
The Eagles will step out of conference on Saturday afternoon, as they travel to UMass.-Lowell for a 3 p.m. tip-off. Following the brief one-game road trip, the Eagles will return to the Drubner Center for five straight beginning with Caldwell on February 5.
