Robertson's Career-High Lifts Men's Basketball Past Pace, 93-86

December 6, 2007

WATERBURY, Conn.-The Post University men's basketball team received a career-high 32 points from senior swingman Arthur Robertson (Far Rockaway, N.Y./Beach Channel), as the Eagles defeated Pace University 93-86, in a non-conference game at the Drubner Center.

The 32 points is a new career standard for the senior from Far Rockaway, N.Y., as he had 31 points on January 30, 2007 at Felician College. It was the second straight game that Robertson, who is the ninth leading scorer in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), has scored over 20 points, as he had 25 last Saturday at Nyack.

He was 11-of-17 from the field, while coming up two assists shy of a triple-double with 13 rebounds, and eight assists.

Junior forward AJ Reitter (Baltimore, Md./Franklin) came three points short of a career-high, with 26 points, on 11-of-17 from the floor. He had a career-high 29 points on opening night at Merrimack. He also had six rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and three steals in 34 minutes.

Senior forward Peter Lawal (Uniondale, N.Y./Uniondale) rounded out the three Eagles in double figures, with 14 points on 7-of-7 shooting. Lawal also controlled 10 caroms, with six coming on the offensive glass. It was the first double-double of the season for the 6-foot-5 senior.

Desmond Quincy-Jones led four Setters (3-5) in double figures with 23 points; Gibraltar White had 19, while Laurence McGhee and Steven Payton had 16 and 11 respectively. The Setters leading scorer Ryan Williams was held to six points.

It was the highest offensive output for the Eagles this season, and it was the first time that Post has scored in the 80's since it defeated Wilmington 100-88, on February 17, 2007. Pace came into the contest allowing 80.9 points per game.

The Eagles connected on a season-best 57.4 percent (39-68) from the field, while hitting 19-of-32 (59.4%) from the field in the second half. Post out rebounded the Setters 40-38, and held them to 5-of-18 from three-point range.

The game was a see-saw affair as there were 10 ties and 14 lead changes, and the largest lead of the game for the Eagles was at 43-34 with 1:38 left until halftime.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday afternoon, as they welcome University of the Sciences in Philadelphia to the Drubner Center, for a CACC contest. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. following the women's game against USP at 1 p.m.

Both games will be carried live on the Eagles Sports Network on http://www.posteagles.com/, with Joe Coss (play-by-play) calling the action. The Nike Pre-game Show tips-off the exciting day of basketball at 12:35 p.m.
